The World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and takes place on 5th June. Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS) celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2019 in the theme of "GO GREEN and AVOID AIR POLLUTION" campaign.
NAIHS planted various fruits plants in NAIHS and Nursing Hostel premises. The Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, Principals, Admin Chief, Professors, officers, staff and all ranks of NAIHS participated on the program. The Executive Director of NAIHS addressed the program.
The 3rd year MBBS students of NAIHS-COM with guidance of Department of Community Medicine celebrated the day in Auditorium hall at Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya by giving awareness program "Going Green" to the students of class 8,9 and 10 of that school.Objective:
1)To celebrate World Environment Day 2019.
2)To plant the various fruits plants in NAIHS and Nursing Hostel premises.
3)Awareness to school students about impact of pollution and role of "Going Green" in improvement of health standard.
The program was formally started with an introduction about World Environment Day in the theme of "GO GREEN and AVOID AIR POLLUTION". The Executive Director of NAIHS addressed the ceremony by giving his motivational speech about environment and safeguarding it on this important World Environment Day.
All participants moved towards the designated area for plantation of various fruits plant. Total 95 various types of fruit plants were planted.
NAIHS-COM 3rd Years MBBS students organized awareness program to the Students of Bijeswori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya in the theme of "Going Green" by organizing significance of celebration of World Environment Day, importance of Going Green, video presentation, quiz competition and poetry. HOD of Community Department Prof. Dr. Lochana Shrestha distributed the prizes to the winner of the quiz competition
