NAIHS conducted its first “Faculty development Training” from 5th July 2020 to 10th July 2020, within its premises with its objective:
1.To sensitize different methods and media of modern teaching learning activities, particularly that is practiced under TU, IOM curriculum.
2.To identify different principles of adult learning that is needed for health professional educators.
3.To conduct the learner centered, interactive brain storming sessions in a cordial and comfortable environment.
4.To assess the effectiveness and fruitfulness of FDT by using valid and reliable evaluation tools.
Training was inaugurated by Chief guest Major General Prof. Dr. Nagendra Bahadur K.C., Director General of Medical Services of the Nepalese Army and special guest, Prof . Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, Chairman, NMC. Distinguished guests present in opening ceremony were Dr. Krishna Prasad Adhikary, Registrar, Nepal Medical Council, Lt. Col. Basanta Gautam, Head of education section, Welfare planning directorate of Nepali Army, Lt. Col. Prof. Dr. Sushila Bhandari, Assistant Matron, SBH, Brigadier General Aruna Rai, Principal, NAIHS-CON and Mr. Mahesh Prasad Bhusal, Vice Principal, NAIHS-COMP.
The one week training had 33 different sessions with 12 participants, six from Shree Birendra Hospital, two from College of Medicine, two from College of Nursing and two from College of Medial Polytechnic. Along with executive committee and conduction committee, there were 13 resource persons; out of which 8 were in house and 5 were invitees from different organizations like NCHPE, Institute of Medicine, and Medical Education Commission.
The closing ceremony began with arrival of chief guest Dean, IOM. Prof. Dr. Divya Singh Shah. Principal Brigadier General Dr. Arun Sharma received and welcomed Prof. Shah. Prof. Dr. T. P. Thapa, organizing secretary of FDT, highlighted the proceeding of the training. Chief guest Prof. Dr. Shah distributed certificates to all participants and addressed the closing ceremony. She highlighted the importance of such training in health professional’s life and admired NAIHS for conducting FDT even during Corona epidemic.Prof. Dr. Nilmani Upadhaya, Executive Director, NAIHS, gave vote of thanks. He appreciated the untiring hard work and continuous support of logistic team.
A much awaited FDT was conducted successfully, as per the desired schedule, in a pleasant and cordial working environment.
