An orientation program for the 9th Batch intake of MBBS program of the College of Medicine of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences was held on 2nd Falgun 2076 (14th February 2020). The chief guest of the program, Maj. Gen. Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh, Director General of Medical Services of the Nepali Army officially initiated the program by lighting the lamp. In a congratulatory speech, Maj. Gen. Dr. Singh explained the contributions of the Nepali Army, the Welfare Fund, and the authorities of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences in shaping the institution to one of the finest medical schools of the nation.
The Executive Director of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences and the Commandant of Shree Birendra Hospital, Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Nagendra Bahadur KC formally welcomed the new batch of students to the institute.
Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Devendra Bahadur Khatri, the Principal of the College of Medicine of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences gave an introduction of the College of Medicine to the new batch of students. Brig. Gen. Prof. Khatri urged the students to develop the right attitude to transform themselves into competent and compassionate professionals.
The Deputy Head of Training Section of Shree Birendra Hospital, Col. Dr. Bhuban Raj Kunwar gave an introduction of the teaching hospital of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences. Col. Dr. Kunwar briefed the audience regarding the medical services of Shree Birendra Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Nilmani Upadhyay, the Deputy Executive Director of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences proposed a vote of thanks to the dignitaries and the organizing committee of the program.
In the post-lunch session of the program, Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Naresh Giri (Retd.) gave a motivational speech to the new batch of students.
The MBBS 1st Year Coordinator, Associate Professor Gyanendra Ghimire explained the rules and regulations of Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences and also introduced the faculty members to the new batch of students.
The Chief of Academics, Dr. Jayendra Bajracharya gave a brief overview of the MBBS Curriculum and also briefed the students on the excellent results of the senior batches of MBBS program in the University Examinations and Nepal Medical Council Licensing Examinations (NMCLE).
The program concluded with a tour of the Basic Science Complex. Ms. Madanika Ghimire and Mr. Subarna Paudel, the 8th Batch of MBBS students, emceed the program and ushered the 9th Batch students during the tour.Published Date: 14 Feb, 2020
